Dear Symantec VIP customers,
On behalf of Symantec, a Division of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products.
Today, we are pleased to announce the availability of Symantec VIP Authentication Services – 2026.March.01.
This release provides the following new features and enhancements:
- Updates to multi-factor authentication in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID
Microsoft is enforcing new multi-factor authentication (MFA) requirements for Azure and Entra ID. To remain compliant and avoid service disruptions, customers must convert their custom control to External MFA in Microsoft Entra ID and ensure administrators and users have registered their VIP authentication methods correctly. - Expanded administrator activity visibility in report streaming logs
Administrator actions are now included in streaming logs, enabling better monitoring and auditing. - Customizable end-user notifications for administrator actions
Customers can now enable and configure customized email notifications for VIP administrator actions directly in VIP Manager, expanding earlier support for notifications when credentials or remembered devices are added, modified, or deleted, improving user awareness and transparency. - Enhanced protection against SMS pumping attacks
New safeguards limit the number of SMS messages that can be sent from a single country in a day, helping reduce fraud risk and unexpected messaging costs. - Improved SAML validation handling and troubleshooting support
Enhancements provide better compatibility with stricter SAML validation standards and simplify troubleshooting when validation exceptions occur. - Renewed SSL certificates for VIP service endpoints
Certificates have been updated with no impact to existing integrations or APIs. - Technical improvements, security upgrades and issue fixes
Ongoing enhancements to improve platform reliability and security.
We recommend reviewing the release notes and enabling applicable features in VIP Manager where appropriate. For more information about this release, refer to the product release notes at VIP Authentication Services 2026.March.01.
