On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that Smart/RESTART Suite version 20.1 is now available. You can download your copy of the Smart/RESTART Suite products online at Support where you can also utilize the case management system.
At Broadcom, we are continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. In accordance with the Broadcom Software Maintenance Policy Handbook, please consider this email your written notification that we are discontinuing technical support for Smart/RESTART and Smart/RRSAF v20.0 effective September 1, 2023. This will allow our development organization to more effectively focus its resources and add value to the next release of the Smart/RESTART Suite. After September 1, 2023, Broadcom will continue to make self-service support available until the end of your current maintenance term.
We encourage you to plan for the migration to the Smart/RESTART Suite v20.1 as soon as possible so you can take full advantage of the features and enhancements this release has to offer such as the removal of the RAI Server. The complete RAI Server functionality has been moved to Common Services for zOS, obviating the RAI Server started task with the aim to increase efficiency and security of the overall operations. The new version also significantly improves the Smart/RESTART memory management.
As Broadcom would like to make your upgrade to Smart/RESTART Suite v20.1 as straightforward as possible, we are offering the following:
- The latest supported version of the Smart/RESTART Suite products, at no charge, as long as you have an active maintenance contract for the Smart/RESTART Suite.
- Documentation to help you prepare for your upgrade to version 20.1, as well as installation procedures, can be viewed on the Smart/RESTART Suite pages at Tech Docs. If you have any questions or require assistance, contact Support.
- We also encourage you to visit the Smart/RESTART and Smart/RRSAF Product Information pages at Support and to sign up for Proactive Notifications, including Critical Alerts, Product Advisories, Release Announcements and/or Security Advisories, at Subscription.
- Accelerated time-to-value when you engage Broadcom Services to assist you with any or all parts of your upgrade. Additional information can be found at the Services Please contact your account representative to receive a quote for such services.
