Subject: End of Service Announcement for CA Easytrieve Release 6.4 with an exception of Release 6.4 localized for Japanese market

 

CA Technologies, a Broadcom Company is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. In accordance with the Broadcom Software Maintenance Policy Handbook [learn.broadcom.com], please consider this email your written notification that we are discontinuing technical support for CA Easytrieve Report Generator Release 6.4 with an exception of Japanese market effective December 15th, 2021. This action will let our Development organization focus its resources and add value to the next release of CA Easytrieve Report Generator Release 11.6. After December 15th, 2021, Broadcom will continue to make self-service support available until the end of your current maintenance term. 

At this time, we encourage you to plan for the migration to CA Easytrieve Report Generator Release 11.6 as soon as possible, so you can take full advantage of the features and enhancements this release has to offer. As Broadcom would like to make your upgrade to CA Easytrieve Report Generator Release 11.6 as straightforward as possible, we are offering the following: 

  • The latest supported Version/Release of CA Easytrieve Report Generator Release 11.6 along with all the maintenance to date, at no charge, as long as you have an active maintenance contract for CA Easytrieve Report Generator.
  • Comprehensive new feature descriptions, detailed differences between releases, and an in-depth review of those differences with examples can be found in the customer documentation [learn.broadcom.com].
  • Accelerated time-to-value when you engage CA Services to assist you with any or all parts of your upgrade. Additional information can be found at the CA Services [learn.broadcom.com] site. Please contact your account representative to receive a quote for such services.
  • Upgrade assistance from qualified local CA partners. For more information and a list of partners in your area, please contact your local CA Channel Partner Group office [learn.broadcom.com].


Please note
Release 11.6 supports Release 6.4 in compatibility mode and our recommendation is to initially migrate all programs from standalone Release 6.4 to compatibility mode within Release 11.6 to avoid any disruption. Upon testing and validating successful run of these programs under compatibility for Release 11.6, we then recommend to migrate and definitely test under the syntax of true Release 11.6.
