NOTES:

  • This matrix is valid for the product(s) available for this release, unless otherwise specified, or unless restrictions/limitations are explicitly specified.

  • The CA XOsoft products do not have specific hardware requirements but rather depends on the operating system & applications in use. Reference the minimum requirements for the operating system the CA XOsoft product is running on and the protected applications for hardware specifications.

  • In this matrix x64 indicates:

    • Advanced Micro Devices AMD64

    • Intel EM64T 64-bit processors. IA-64 indicates Intel Architecture-64

    • Itanium and Itanium 2 processors which are not yet supported.

  • XOsoft Replication (DR), XOsoft High Availability (HA) Data Rewind (true CDP) technology embedded at no charge.

  • Blackberry (BES) support is included at no extra charge with XOsoftHA for SQL. Please refer to the XOsoftHA for Blackberry Operations Guide for details.

  • File Server type scenarios can replicate virtually any application or data type, including databases, so long as the OS platform and file system are supported.

  • Applications not listed here may be configured for High Availability with XOsoftHA using custom scripts in combination with the XOsoftHA scripting framework. Please review the XOsoft User Guide for more details.

  • CA XOsoft's High Availability (HA) automated failover product, XOsoftHA, is not supported in an environment where either the master or replica server is also functioning as a Windows Domain Controller (DC), DNS server or SBS (Windows Small Business Server) server. Please note that in this case you would use the standard XOsoft Replication (DR) product instead.

  • CA XOsoft for Exchange is not supported in an SBS (Windows Small Business Server) environment for failover/failback, however replication (DR) and Data Rewind (CDP) for data recovery is fully supported.

10 - CA XOsoft (DR) for Exchange 2007 no longer requires the ws_ex2ex.exe utility for failover/failback. The failover and failback processes can now be manually performed using standard Exchange 2007 PowerShell commands.Ws_ex2ex.exe is still supported for Exchange 2000 & 2003. Ws_ex2ex.exe is also supported on Exchange 2007 standalone and Exchange 2007 SCC clusters. For failover and failback features with Exchange 2007 XOsoftHA is recommended to reduce complexity and provide a faster and automated failover process. Exchange2007SP1 Rollup9 and Exchange2007SP2 are supported.
11 - Assured Recovery (AR) on replication (DR) and HA is not available for this application.
12 - BES support is based on script which is shipped with the product.
13 - XOsoft support BITLOCKER on windows server 2008.
14 - XOsoft support Guest OS on Citrix Xen, but the Guest OS needs Real Machine license, there is a hotfix in XOsoft 12.5 to fix this problem, and the Guest only need VM license, the fix number is T5LE029, and in XOsoft12.SP1 the hotfix is XOsoft12.1 Rollup2.
15 - Automatic rewind checkpoints are not fully supported for Oracle; instead manual bookmarks can be inserted via the XOsoft Manager or Xosoft Powershell.
16 - XOsoft12.5 SP2 is required for support windows 2008 R2.
17 - XOsoft suppport RHEL5.4 with kernel version 2.6.18-164.10.1 RHEL5.5 with kernel version 2.6.18-194.el5
18 - BES 5.0.0 is supported by XOsoft 12.5 SP2 on windows server 2003 x86 hot fix number is T5KD057
