Welcome to the CA Harvest Software Change Manager Plug-in for Eclipse Update Site. Use this site to download the CA Harvest SCM Plug-in for Eclipse versions and then install the plug-in on your workstation. Follow the appropriate steps to install the CA Harvest SCM Plug-in for Eclipse.

Notes:

The release notes provides information about system requirements, operating system support, installation considerations, and known issues. Before installing the CA Harvest SCM Plug-in for Eclipse, read the release.

Please ensure all the requirements for Eclipse plug-in are available before installation. The information about Eclipse plug-in requirements are at "Eclipse Requirements" (Page no 33) of Release notes.

From CA Software Change Manager Release R 12.1 SP3 onwards, Eclipse plug-in dependencies are required to be installed as a pre-requisite for plug-in installation. The current page lists the dependencies for r12.5 release. You can download from the archived update Section or from the install instructions as per your convenience.

For releases earlier than r 12.1 SP3, Eclipse plug-in dependencies are not required as a pre-requisite. For more detailed instructions, please refer to the Release Notes or the Implementation guide of that corresponding release.

To install the CA Harvest SCM Plug-in r12.5 using Eclipse 3.6

Follow these steps:

  1. In Eclipse, select Help, Install new software.

    The installation wizard appears.

  2. Select the Available Software Sites tab.

  3. Click Add Site.

    The Add Site dialog appears.

  4. In the Location field, enter the location of the locally downloaded SCMPluginDependenciesForEclipse3.6.x.zip file.

    This points to the bundle of dependency zip files, which are prerequisites for the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse.

  5. Click OK.

    The archived SCMPluginDependenciesForEclipse3.6.x.zip is added to the list of available software sites.

  6. Select the appropriate check boxes next to the SCMPluginDependencies.zip and click next to install the dependencies.

    Note: For more information about the check box selection, see the Dependencies selection information for appropriate IDE's in the archived update section below.

  7. Click Finish, when prompted to confirm the installation.

  8. Click Yes, when prompted to restart Eclipse.

    The SCM dependencies for the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse is installed.

  9. Repeat step 4 again. In the Location field, enter the location of the locally downloaded SCMEclipsePlugin_12.5.0.157.zip.

    This points to the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse.

  10. Click OK.

    The plug-in zip file is added to the list of available software sites.

  11. Select the check box next to the plug-in and click next to proceed and accept the license agreement to complete the plug-in installation.

  12. Click Finish, when prompted to confirm the installation.

  13. Click Yes, when prompted to restart Eclipse.

The CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse is installed.

To install the CA Harvest SCM Plug-in for r12.5 using Eclipse 3.7

Follow these steps:

  1. In Eclipse, select Help, Install new software.

    The installation wizard appears.

  2. Select the Available Software Sites tab.

  3. Click Add Site.

    The Add Site dialog appears.

  4. In the Location field, enter the location of the locally downloaded SCMPluginDependenciesForEclipse3.7.x.zip file.

    This points to the bundle of dependency zip files, which are prerequisites for the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse.

  5. Click OK.

    The archived SCMPluginDependenciesForEclipse3.7.x.zip is added to the list of available software sites.

  6. Select the appropriate check boxes next to the SCMPluginDependenciesForEclipse3.7.x.zip and click next to install the dependencies.

    Note: For more information about the check box selection, see the Dependencies selection information for appropriate IDE's in the archived update section below.

  7. Click Finish, when prompted to confirm the installation.

  8. Click Yes, when prompted to restart Eclipse.

    The SCM dependencies for the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse is installed.

  9. Repeat step 4 again. In the Location field, enter the location of the locally downloaded SCMEclipsePlugin_12.5.0.157.zip.

    This points to the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse.

  10. Click OK.

    The plug-in zip file is added to the list of available software sites.

  11. Select the check box next to the plug-in and click next to proceed and accept the license agreement to complete the plug-in installation.

  12. Click Finish, when prompted to confirm the installation.

  13. Click Yes, when prompted to restart Eclipse.

To install the CA Harvest SCM Plug-in r12.5 using Eclipse 4.2

  1. In Eclipse, select Help, Install new software.

    The installation wizard appears.

  2. Select the Available Software Sites tab.

  3. Click Add Site.

    The Add Site dialog appears.

  4. In the Location field, enter the location of the locally downloaded SCMPluginDependenciesForEclipse4.2. zip file.

    This points to the bundle of dependency zip files, which are prerequisites for the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse.

  5. Click OK.

    The archived SCMPluginDependencieForEclipse4.2.zip is added to the list of available software sites.

  6. Select the appropriate check boxes next to the SCMPluginDependencieForEclipse4.2.zip and click next to install the dependencies.

    Note: For more information about the check box selection, see the Dependencies selection information for appropriate IDE's in the section listed below.

  7. Click Finish, when prompted to confirm the installation.

  8. Click Yes, when prompted to restart Eclipse.

    The SCM dependencies for the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse is installed.

  9. Repeat step 4 again. In the Location field, enter the location of the locally downloaded SCMEclipsePlugin_12.5.0.157.zip.

    This points to the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse.

  10. Click OK.

    The plug-in zip file is added to the list of available software sites.

  11. Select the check box next to the Release 12.5 plug-in version, and click next to proceed and accept the license agreement to complete the plug-in installation.

  12. Click Finish, when prompted to confirm the installation.

  13. Click Yes, when prompted to restart Eclipse.

The CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse is installed.

To install the CA Harvest SCM Plug-in r12.5 using Eclipse 4.3

Follow these steps:

  1. In Eclipse, select Help, Install new software.

    The installation wizard appears.

  2. Select the Available Software Sites tab.

  3. Click Add Site.

    The Add Site dialog appears.

  4. In the Location field, enter the location of the locally downloaded SCMPluginDependenciesForEclipse4.3.0. zip file.

    This points to the bundle of dependency zip files, which are prerequisites for the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse.

  5. Click OK.

    The archived SCMPluginDependenciesForEclipse4.3.0.zip is added to the list of available software sites.

  6. From the drop down, select the SCMPluginDependenciesForEclipse4.3.0.zip file.

    Dependencies for Eclipse4.3 will be displayed

  7. Select the appropriate check boxes next to the SCMPluginDependencies.zip and click next to install the dependencies.

    Note: For more information about the check box selection, see the Dependencies selection information for appropriate IDE's in the archived update section below.

  8. Click Finish, when prompted to confirm the installation.

  9. Click Yes, when prompted to restart Eclipse.

    The SCM dependencies for the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse is installed.

  10. Repeat step 4 again. In the Location field, enter the location of the locally downloaded SCMEclipsePlugin_12.5.0.157.zip.

    This points to the CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse.

  11. Click OK.

    The plug-in zip file is added to the list of available software sites.

  12. Select the check box next to the plug-in and click next to proceed and accept the license agreement to complete the plug-in installation.

  13. Click Finish, when prompted to confirm the installation.

  14. Click Yes, when prompted to restart Eclipse.

The CA Harvest SCM Plug-In for Eclipse is installed.

Note:

After installation when attempting to log into broker, if you see an error message as "Unable to initialize CA SCM please ensure that all required components are installed", please ensure the SCM path, ETPKI and RTHOME(pec) are added to the beginning of the PATH variable.

This error appears sometimes when the PATH variable has exceeded a limit of 1024 characters. Adding the SCM,ETPKI and RTHOME to the beginning of the PATH and restarting the Eclipse session would help resolve this situation.

CA Harvest SCM Plug-in for Eclipse r12.5 is now certified with RAD 9.0. This plug-in is compatible with CA Harvest SCM r12.5.

Archived Update Site -r12.5

Before installing Eclipse plug-in for r12.5, you need to download and install the dependencies based on your Eclipse version.

For Eclipse 3.6 download the dependencies from here

For Eclipse 3.7 download the dependencies from here

For Eclipse 4.2 download the dependencies from here

For Eclipse 4.3 download the dependencies from here

Note: During the above dependencies installation,

For Eclipse IDE for Java developers and Classic IDE, select all the features from the corresponding dependency archive zip.

For Eclipse IDE for Java Developers, download an extra JAR (org.apache.commons.logging_1.0.4.v201101211617.jar) from here and include it in the plugins folder of the Eclipse installation. This jar must be used to use the Dash Board Reports feature from the CA Harvest SCM plug-in

For Eclipse IDE for JEE developers, select Birt and zest features from the dependency archive zip.

For RAD 8.0.2, choose only the CA Harvest SCM plug-in (No need to install other dependencies).

After the dependencies install, please download Eclipse plug-in for r12.5 from here and install.

RAD 8.5
The pre-requisites are :

  1. For RAD 8.5, download the Eclipse 3.6 dependencies from the support site from here and install only the zest binaries from the bundle and then proceed to install the SCM plug-in.
  2. Additionally we need to install an authentication jar from here and include it in the plugins folder of the RAD installation.
    For Ex: Download and extract the jar into this sample RAD Home install location on your windows machine
    C:\Program Files\IBM\IBMIMShared\plugins

 

RAD 9.0
The pre-requisites are:

  1. Download and install GEF-Update-3.8.2.zip from here.
  2. Additionally we need to install an authentication jar from here and include it in the plugins folder of the RAD installation.

    For Ex: Download and extract the jar into this sample RAD Home install location on your windows machine
    C:\Program Files\IBM\IBMIMShared\plugins
