Subject: Stabilization Hotfixes Available
CA Technologies AppLogic Product Team has announced a set of stabilization hot fixes for AppLogic v3.8 that are available for download. Three hot fixes are required for all customers with AppLogic perpetual licenses who plan to continue running AppLogic past AppLogic end-of-life (EOL) date of June 30, 2015.
Mandatory Hotfixes
- hf9469: Resolves additional OpenSSL security vulnerabilities. This hot fix does not require a reboot.
- hf9467: Resolves both an issue where 'comp start' may result in a controller crash and OpenSSL security vulnerabilities. This hot fix does not require a reboot.
- hf9466: Disables the grid metering system from collecting and reporting data to the configured metering server. This hotfix modifies files on the grid controller and removes all metering log files currently residing on the grid controller. This hot fix does not require a reboot.
Optional Hotfixes
- hf9468: Adds the Windows APK and Windows Server packages with support for Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 to the download directory of the AppLogic grid controller and Windows APK volume.
In addition, for AppLogic releases v3.8, v3.7, v3.5, v3.1, v3.0 and v2.9 the CA Technologies AppLogic Product Team are providing written CA AppLogic End of Life Information to enable your AppLogic system to run perpetually without the CA hosted GRM server. This information is specific to the 3.x BFC and 2.9.9 ALDO servers, and so grid reboots are not required.
The CA AppLogic End of Life Information is provided in the AppLogic English bookshelves at the following location:
- 3.8, 3.7 and 3.5 - in the Getting Ready section
- 3.1 and 3.0 - at the beginning of the Overview Guide
For ease of use, the CA AppLogic Support Knowledge Base is provided in the Reference section of the 3.8, 3.7 and 3.5 English bookshelves. To access the knowledge base, you must first access the Reference section, and then click the CA AppLogic Support Knowledge Base.
There is a risk that unpatched AppLogic grids running after December 31, 2015, will accumulate GRM data locally and eventually consume all available disk space on the grid controller leading to an unplanned outage.
