As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that Clarity Release 16.1.0 is now available for On Premise and SaaS customers.

 

New features for Clarity Release 16.1.0 include:

Transforming Investment Management

  • Ability to copy projects including all project fields and configured modules *
  • Simplified Scheduling:
    • Moving a task shifts all successor Tasks *
    • Retention of Task Timeline expand / collapse state and baseline compare
  • Ability to filter assignments to show only those for active resources
  • Status Reports workspace: Dedicated workspace to view status reports across investment types
  • Status Reports:
    • Include one or more To Dos table widgets in the configurable canvas
    • Option to set the report date to the current date in PDF preview mode
    • Export multiple status reports to PDF format from the Status Reports workspace *
  • Tasks workspace:
    • Board view with swimlanes, card configuration & sorting (BETA) *
    • Calendar view for scheduling Tasks
  • Timesheets:
    • Convert Resource Manager filter from String to Lookup *
    • Users with Timesheet Approval rights can view closed timesheet periods
    • Timesheets grid to support visual widgets *

Reinventing Resource Management

  • ‘% availability’ as a unit of measure for use in the Staff module and Staffing workspace *

Providing Financial Transparency

  • Transactions workspace in the modern user experience to create, view, edit, delete, and copy financial transactions directly from the grid view
  • Enhanced governance controls with field level security support for the Financials module *
  • Visual widgets for Investment Cost Plan/Budget/Benefit Plan Details modules

Clarity Connections (Clarity-Rally)

  • Clarity end users can sync individual investments with Rally on demand
  • Immediately inform Clarity users Portfolio Items are ‘created’ in Rally
  • Immediately return Rally’s formatted ID to Clarity when Portfolio Items are ‘created’ in Rally.
  • Sync ‘null’ Parent / Owner field values
  • Administrators can map/sync Clarity’s ‘ENUM’ lookup data type with Rally’s Object data type
  • Improved date and time zone handling for when the Clarity server and the integrated Rally workspace are configured to use the same time zone

 

Customer Voice

  • Edit visual widgets directly from the widgets ribbon
  • Added capability to ‘star’ items within various subobjects (e.g., Roadmap Items, Risks, etc.)
  • Filter Grouping Options for advanced all or any combinations *
  • Views:
    • Share via access groups *
    • Reordered Favorites first, renamed “Default” to “Recommended” *
  • Grids: Per column aggregation by data type (Average, Count, Min, Max, Sum)
  • Option to display the Details Flyout either on the right side of the page (current behavior) or the bottom of the page in a horizontal position
  • Option to configure Details Flyout modules for Investment Subobjects (including Custom)
  • Improved navigation experience where the system remembers item selection as a user navigates away from a page and returns (within session)
  • Business Rules: Hide or show selected attributes within the Properties module *
  • Investment Canvases:
    • Display Subobjects (including Custom) as table widgets
    • Display Object attributes, including rich text (now available in Page Canvases)
    • Configure in Investment blueprints
  • User Administration: Create users, mark as starred
  • Audit: Administrative access to audit information directly from the modern user experience for all API enabled objects (including Users) *
  • Conversations:
    • Option to show conversations in Details Flyout for Blueprint enabled objects
    • Displays name & resource ID instead of name & role in @Mentions
    • Consolidate individual user Conversations in My Workspace
  • Import CSV for Custom Master Objects (BETA)
  • User configuration option to set Project banner color to ‘none’ to comply with Corporate branding standards
  • ‘Smartlist’ requires at least one filter
  • Enhancements related to the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standard with the inclusion of numerous foundational accessibility improvements encompassing Visual design (e.g., color, contrast, visible focus), Responsive Design (e.g., pop-up windows, text areas, and browser zoom), Keyboard (e.g., key input, tab order, & focus), and Screen readers (e.g., semantics, hierarchy, & pages structures) in view of WCAG 2.1 AA requirements

 

* Key improvements delivered through the Clarity Customer Innovation Panel process

 

BETA - This is a beta feature and may contain bugs, errors and/or other issues. This feature is provided “AS IS, WITH NO WARRANTIES.” Broadcom does not guarantee the availability of this beta feature, and any outages or downtime of the beta feature will not count towards service credits pursuant to Broadcom’s service level agreement. There is no guarantee, representation, or obligation that the beta feature will ever be made generally available in future releases of the product.

 

If you are an On-Premise customer, you can download your copy of Clarity Release 16.1.0 online at Broadcom Support where you can also utilize Broadcom’s case management system. To install your product, follow the installation procedures for your product at Tech Docs. If you are a SaaS customer, your environment will be automatically upgraded to the new release at a scheduled time following the 16.1.0 GA release date. NOTE ABOUT THE “STAFFING PLAN” WORKSPACE: With the release of Clarity 16.0.2, Broadcom announced our plan to deprecate the Staffing Plan workspace. The Staffing Plan workspace will no longer be enhanced, and we plan to remove the Staffing Plan workspace from the product in the 16.1.2 release scheduled for May 2023. This advance notice is being provided to allow your organization to plan a smooth transition to the new Staffing workspace.

 

END OF SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: In keeping with evolving software industry practice, Clarity Product Management now communicates the End date for each release at the time of release. This change allows customers greater flexibility in your upgrade planning process. In accordance with the Broadcom Service/End of Life Policy within the “Working with CA Support” guide available at Broadcom Support Online, please consider this communication your written notification that support for Clarity Release 16.1.0, all patch levels, all languages, will be discontinued as of November 30, 2025.
