Subject:   General Availability Announcement for OPS/MVS Automation Point 11.7 SP01

On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services.  As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly announce updated releases and maintenance for our products. As an OPS/MVS customer, you are entitled to use Automation Point as an off-board automation companion product.

Today, we are pleased to announce the availability of Automation Point 11.7 SP01.  This Service Pack includes all maintenance published prior to this update. By installing this Service Pack, you ensure that your systems are current on maintenance for Automation Point 11.7. The service pack will modify the technology, driving some features of Automation Point to deliver improvements in security and performance and deprecate some technology and features that are unused or can be delivered better.

Updates include:

• Java removal in Notification Manager. Use of and dependency on a Java Tomcat server to drive Notification Manager is replaced with Node JS technology in order to alleviate security issues related to running Java on a windows system. Includes update of NM UI to the Broadcom Precision template.
• Replace MSSQL with SQLite in Notification Manager. Consolidation of AP on the SQLite technology for all components, this removes the requirement for an MSSQL server or license.
• Discontinue connection through NIM SM for automated ticketing. Alternative approaches are available using cURL.
• Discontinue ASM400 Manager. Note: ASM 400/5220 console access not affected.

You can download your copy of Automation Point from the OPS 14.0 packaging at Support where you can also utilize Broadcom’s case management system.
