Summary
OpenSSH before 10.3 can use unintended ECDSA algorithms. Listing of any ECDSA algorithm in PubkeyAcceptedAlgorithms or HostbasedAcceptedAlgorithms is misinterpreted to mean all ECDSA algorithms.
Products Affected
- Brocade ASCG versions before 3.5.0
Products Not Affected
- Brocade Fabric OS
[VEX Justification: Inline_mitigations_already_exist]
Security Exposure Note: While Brocade Fabric OS contains the vulnerable open source component, the security risk is negligible as the vulnerability cannot introduce counterfeit or weak algorithms. It is strictly confined to the standard, cryptographically strong NIST curves natively compiled into the FOS. - Brocade SANnav
[VEX Justification: Vulnerable_code_not_in_execute_path]
Solution
- While not exploitable, security updates provided in Brocade SANnav 3.0.0a and 3.0.1a.
- Security update provided in Brocade ASCG 3.5.0
