Subject: General Availability Announcement for Symantec Privileged Access Manager v4.3
On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that Symantec Privileged Access Manager v4.3is now available.
New features for Symantec Privileged Access Manager v4.3 include:
Integration With VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
This release enables integration of PAM with VMware Cloud Foundation to centralize VCF credential management, automate password rotation, and enforce privileged access controls across your VCF deployment. The integration streamlines VCF privileged access control by combining the functionality of several VCF administrative interfaces into a secure, auditable, and efficiently managed infrastructure platform.
PAM Live Upgrader Utility
The PAM Live Upgrader Utility streamlines the process of applying hotfixes and service packs. The PAM Live Upgrader Utility significantly reduces the number of manual steps required for an upgrade. It also provides for a minimal outage window, and no interruption to Access Sessions.
Please note you can only use the PAM Live Upgrader Utility to upgrade from version 4.3 to subsequent releases. You cannot, for example, upgrade from PAM 4.2.3 to PAM 4.3 or 4.3.x. You can use the PAM Live Upgrader Utility to apply a hot fix or a patch to PAM 4.3.
Local Streaming Storage (LSS) For Session Recording and S3 Remote Storage Support
When LSS is enabled, PAM creates a dedicated virtual file system (VFS) on the system disk of the local appliance for session recording. LSS is also required to support S3 remote storage. LSS also provides increased reliability and performance by eliminating interruptions and latency and lowers CPU and memory consumption by minimizing real-time network transfers, buffering, and retransmissions.
Service Desk Broker Target Connector Integration
The Service Desk Broker target connector allows you to configure PAM to integrate with your third-party service desk solution to evaluate whether a PAM workflow request should be approved or denied. Service Desk Broker provides flexibility to implement your third-party service desk application with the proprietary predefined criteria (logic and rules) required to meet your organizational objectives, and processing HTTPS requests with predefined criteria.
Dynamically Add Devices and Target Accounts to the Access Panel Based on Target Group Membership
PAM administrators can now determine which devices and/or accounts appear on the Access panel for a given user. What appears on the Access panel is based on how the user's configured access policies and credential manager groups. PAM Admins can determine what appears by selecting the Authorize Accounts on Access page based on Credential Manager Group option. This option, selected by default, is found on the Accounts tab of the Global Settings panel.
Assign Custom Password Composition Policies to Azure Access Credential Accounts
Deploying PAM creates a default application that manages Azure accounts. This account is named Azure Access Credential Accounts. Users can now update the Password Composition Policy (PCP) in this default Azure target application. Users can create their own PCP with their needed password rules, and then update it in the default Azure target application.
