Subject:  General Availability Announcement for REST API 12.1.05 for CA 7 Workload Automation 12.1

Today, we are pleased to announce that CA 7 REST API 12.1.05 is now available. 

CA 7 REST API is a capability of CA 7 12.1, providing users with a modern interface to interact with CA 7. This capability helps application developers and automation engineers to automate and integrate existing applications with CA 7 to develop custom solutions.

New features for CA 7 REST API 12.1.05 include: 

  • A single REST API server can communicate with multiple instances of CA 7, leading to less overhead of configuring, maintaining, and managing CA 7 REST API servers.
  • Idempotency option is now available for command endpoints. Idempotence is implemented using a transaction key. Critical actions (demand, run, etc.) cannot be issued more than once to prevent unintended consequences.
  • Batch – multiple API calls can be executed in the same CA 7 terminal session to reduce the overhead of terminal allocation and deallocation in CA7ONL if you need to execute a long series of API calls.
  • Agent Management
  • Reduced complexity of REST API installation on mainframe by removing Event Manager, which required a lot of work. One less mainframe component to install.
