Subject: General Availability Announcement for Layer7 API Developer Portal 5.3.1
The Layer7 product group of Broadcom's IMS division is pleased to announce that the Layer7 API Developer Portal 5.3.1 is now available. This release provides key enhancements based on customer feedback and user experience improvements.
Congratulations to the team for reaching this important milestone and for continuing to deliver value to our customers.
Here are the highlights of this Layer7 API Developer Portal release:
- API Products is now General Availability - API Products is now available to all customers and includes the ability to provide product level documentation with visibility to all user roles.
- Policy Template Management with Graphman Bundles is now General Availability - All customers may now use Graphman to generate policy templates and manage the templates from the portal.
- Policy Template Category Enhancements - The ability to view all APIs using a policy template category can now be achieved via the new “APIs” tab of a policy template categories.
- Support for External OAuth Providers for Credential Management - API keys may now be configured to understand that the credentials are managed by an external provider.
- Upgrade Enhancements to Preserve Customizations - A framework for customizations has been added to allow customizations to be preserved during upgrades when made within the context of the provided framework.
- Inactive User Management - The ability to monitor user activity and set thresholds for detecting inactive users is now provided to increase security by removing stale accounts.
- New API Explorer for PAPI Endpoints - The API Explorer capability for Portal APIs (PAPI) has been relocated to align with the interactive documentation experience for all APIs published on the portal.
- API URI Enhancements - More flexibility has been added to allow the backend API URI location to be modified. The use of a wildcard at the end of the URI is now optional and conflict resolution checking has been introduced to provide more robust URI validation.
- New Cluster Wide Property for API Sync Control - Gateway published API sync may not be configured independently of the portal published API sync.
End of Support Notice
The following capabilities are now considered deprecated and subject to removal in the next release of the API Developer Portal.
- OData Portal API (PAPI) Endpoints - All OData-based Portal API (PAPI) endpoints are now considered to be deprecated. Please see the product documentation for more details.
- API Plans and API Groups - Both API Plans and API Groups are considered to be deprecated in favor of API Products. While these will not be removed immediately, it is important to evaluate your use of API Plans and API Groups and work with Broadcom to identify any blockers that may prevent the migration to API Products.
- PSSG - PSSG is no longer supported as of the Portal 5.3.1 release.

NOTE: The Broadcom private repository for Helm images will be updated with the release artifacts soon. Once available, the ability to get an access token will be enabled on the Broadcom Support download site
