Subject: General Availability Announcement for API Developer Portal 5.2
The Layer7 product group of Broadcom's IMS division is pleased to announce that the Layer7 API Developer Portal 5.2 is now available. This release provides key enhancements based on customer feedback and user experience improvements.
Congratulations to the team for reaching this important milestone and for continuing to deliver value to our customers.
Here are the highlights of the Layer7 API Developer Portal 5.2 release:
- API Products (Limited Availability) - Provides the ability to create a collection of APIs along with their usage limitations as a single “API Product” that may be granted to organizations as a single entity.
- SAML SSO Support for Multi-org and Multi-role Users - The SAML SSO authentication scheme now supports the ability to provide mappings to allow users to belong to multiple organizations with unique roles within each organization.
- Portal API (PAPI) Support for External JWT Authentication - The Portal API now supports integration with an external OAuth provider by allowing API requests to the Portal API to be authenticated using a JSON web token (JWT) from the external provider.
- Portal API (PAPI) Standardization Updates - The Portal API endpoints for Applications, API Groups, API Plans, and Requests have been updated to adhere to our latest API standards based on REST. The previous OData endpoints are now deprecated and subject to removal in a future release.
- UI Updates for Applications and Requests - The Applications and Request UIs have been redesigned based on using the new Portal API REST endpoints to provide an improved user experience.
- Ability to Disable All Local Logins - All direct login to the API Portal may now be disabled to enforce login via configured SSO authentication schemes. This allows our customers to enforce login requirements such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) using their enterprise standards.
For a complete list of enhancements and changes, please see the release notes and product documentation for more information.
