Subject:  General Availability Announcement for Layer7 API Developer Portal 5.1.2

The Layer7 product group of Broadcom's IMS division is pleased to announce that the Layer7 API Developer Portal 5.1.2 is now available. This release provides key enhancements based on customer feedback and user experience improvements. 

Congratulations to the team for reaching this important milestone and for continuing to deliver value to our customers.

Here are the highlights of the Layer7 API Developer Portal 5.1.2 release:

  • TLS 1.3 Now Supported - TLS 1.3 is now supported for all communication via the Portal UI as well as Portal API (PAPI) interactions
  • Custom Pages - Support for custom pages was previously deprecated in the 5.1 release. Based on customer feedback, this capability has been returned with full support and is no longer marked as deprecated.
  • Fully Customized Email Notifications - Email notifications may now be fully customized using the Portal API (PAPI) to configure the email subject and body along with the ability to use HTML formatting.
  • Public API Information without Authentication - Truly public APIs and documentation are now able to be accessed via the Portal API (PAPI) without requiring user authentication (if optionally enabled).
  • Security Hardening - A number of security updates have been made to provide additional hardening of the portal UI. 
  • Rate Limits and Quotas for API Management
    • Introduced the 'API per Organization' assignment level to provide the ability to enforce limits across all applications within an organization on a per-API basis
    • Added the ability for administrators to assign Rate Limits and Quotas at the API per organization assignment level to allow for more granular API usage control
  • View List of APIs at an Organization Level - Portal Administrators and API Owners can now view the list of APIs along with their accessibility status at an organization level allowing for improved administration. 
  • Portal API (PAPI) Updates - Continued updates to improve the overall consistency and performance of PAPI. This release included enhancements to the organization's endpoint.
  • Application Request Workflow Includes Delete Application - Org Admins and Developers can now delete applications after acquiring approval from the Portal Administrator.
