Today, we are pleased to announce the general availability of Symantec Control Compliance Suite - Security Content Update (SCU) 2023-2.
The release packages are available for download from the Broadcom Support Download Center and also at BRCM (Symantec) Live Update Server.
Release Highlights
New Platform Support:
Compliance assessment support for Amazon Linux 2023 systems:
Added Target Type: Amazon Linux 2023 Machines
Added Asset group: Amazon Linux 2023 Servers
Note: The data collection for Amazon Linux is supported in Agentless mode.
Feature Enhancement:
Integration of the LibSSH Third-Party Library for SSH Communication
Security Content Update 2023-2 uses LibSSH third-party library for SSH communication, replacing the PuTTY library. With the integration of LibSSH, the following are the key enhancements:
- RSA Certificate Authentication Support: Certificate-based authentication with RSA key format is now supported, providing seamless compatibility with the latest version of UNIX operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and Ubuntu 22.
- Certificate Authentication Improvements: Certificate-based authentication is now supported with various types of key formats across different UNIX operating systems.
Technical Standards Support
Added new technical standards for compliance assessment: To assess the security compliance posture of host machines running various platforms and databases in your environment, the following new technical standards are added in SCU 2023-2:
