Subject: General Availability Announcement for Clarity Release 16.4.0
On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that Clarity Release 16.4.0 is now available for On-Premises and SaaS customers.
New features for Clarity Release 16.4.0 include:
Expanding to Projects and Products
- Frictionless Cost Accounting (aka Frictionless Time)
- Provide an option to select either Points OR Count for a Team’s Timesheet calculation
- Roadmaps
- Add Planned, Budget, Actual Revenue and Profit calculations to the Roadmap Item Object
- Add Budget and Actual Benefit and Net Benefit calculations to the Roadmap Item Object
- The above items also include the ability to sync data from linked Investments to a Roadmap
- Mobile
- Extended current Action Item capability enabling users to view and manage Action Item Comments *
People-Centric Planning
- Include License Type and Last Login information to both the Resources and Users workspaces *
- Introducing a new Calendar module, configured via Blueprint, enabling user to quickly see their overall monthly availability with options to view all details or only exceptions *
- Enable Financial fields and Contact information to be editable within the Resources workspace *
- Added support for ‘filter groups’ within the Staffing workspace (e.g., Allocations by Investment, Allocations by Resource, Assignments by Investment, Assignments by Resource) *
- Incorporated per-period metric Variance and Percentage attributes to the following Clarity objects *
- Staff Object: Allocation to Actuals Variance; Allocation to Actuals Variance %
- Investment Object: Allocation to Actuals Variance; Allocation to Actuals Variance %
- Resource Object : Remaining Availability %
- Included the Resource Summary mode, in the Staff module, to view from the Investment Hierarchy (with a larger font size)
3 Stages of AI (Generative, Agentic, Predictive) (BETA)
- Expand Vaia’s capabilities providing the ability to define AI agents which operate at the Workspace or Object level
- Ability to have greater control over AI costs by specifying output token size
- Optional capability to brand Vaia using company-specific naming and image
- Configure data extraction (csv) as a data source.
- Includes the ability to view which report is included in the AI Agent.
- Similarly ability to view which AI Agents are leveraging which reports.
Providing Financial Transparency
- Actual Transactions: Enable financial values, such as costs and revenue, to be recorded and tracked across four currency types; Billing; Reporting; Transaction; and Home
- Introducing standardized, out-of-the-box attributes for critical financial variances, such as profit and net benefit ensuring consistent data across all modules, from reporting and the data warehouse to field-level security
- In order to improve the user experience the existing Financial Posting jobs have been renamed and their descriptions have been updated
Business Intelligence (Includes Foundations for Future Insights)
- Additional capabilities have been incorporated in the new ‘Reporting’ workspace supporting the Report Designer, Report Scheduling, Report Viewing in terms of export capabilities, Report Administration, including Data Provider design and Data Warehouse updates
- Report Viewer
- Delivering the most popular reports as out of the box system-level reports that can be viewed, scheduled for delivery, and exported to PDF or PPTX
- Relocated the report level filter configuration capabilities from the filter fly-out to a more prominent position in the report header along with period and unit of measure selection
- Provides report level period and unit of measure configuration in the report header along with filter selection
- Visibility for the number of filter chips configured for a selected filter
- The ability to explore (drill down to) supporting report information
- A new 'Details' side panel (flyout) has been added to display comprehensive information for available reports.New report content now incorporated in either PDF or PPTX formats
- Conditional formatting rules within table widgets (including per-period and total metrics)
- Breakdown Dimension option for Line, Bar, and Column charts provides a secondary dimension to further segment or categorize data alongside the primary dimension
- Improved user experience providing more control over widget size and attribute or metric sizing
- Configured Table styling including: show/hide border; cell font size and color; alternate row colors; and group-by row controls for font color and size, bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, and left/rigt/center justification
- Configured Style overrides (via Table column hamburger menu controls) including: renaming columns and per-period metrics; header and cell alignment; header background and text color; display type; decimal display; and hiding icons
- Configured option to display per-period metrics, within a Table, in a Column or Row orientation
- Configured option to repeat the Total row within a Table widget
- Configured options to hide/show widget borders
- Configured colors for reports containing a Number Tile or Progress Ring
- Report Scheduling
- Users have an export option to exclude selected Tabs within a specific report
- Report Designer
- Delivering the most popular (Jaspersoft) reports as out of the box system-level reports in the new Reporting workspace
- Ability to copy out of the box system-level reports and map data providers
- Ability to define conditional formatting rules within table widgets (including per-period and total metrics)
- Introducing a new widget type - 'Line' chart - providing the ability to visualize trends and changes over time
- Breakdown Dimension option for Line, Bar, and Column charts provides a secondary dimension to further segment or categorize data alongside the primary dimension
- Improved user experience providing more control over widget size and attribute or metric sizing
- Additional Table styling tools including: ability to show/hide border; cell font size and color; alternate row colors; and group-by row controls for font color and size, bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, and left/rigt/center justification
- Ability to override Table property | Style settings via native Table column hamburger menu controls including: renaming columns and per-period metrics; header and cell alignment; header background and text color; display type; decimal display; and hiding icons
- Option to display per-period metrics, within a Table widget, in a Column or Row orientation
- Option to repeat the Total row within a Table widget
- Option to hide/show widget borders in the UX and exported files (includes Attribute Group borders and attributes or metrics within an Attribute Group)
- Option to hide/show chart Axis labels and grid lines
- Improved color selection method for the Number Tile and Progress Ring widgets
- Support for negative values within Line, Bar, and Column charts
- Ability to change chart types (e.g., from a Pie chart to a Bar chart) and preserve the chart property values
- Ability to manage report-level filters (e.g., edit saved filter names and delete a saved filter)
- Relocated the report-level filter capabilities from the filter fly-out to a more prominent position in the report header along with period and unit of measure selection
- Provide report-level period and unit of measure configuration in the report header along with filter selection
- Visibility for the number of filter chips configured for a selected filter
- The ability to configure a Data Provider Object Name or ID attribute as a linkable item.
- The "Starred" attribute has been added to the reports grid for the Report Designer
- Report Administration
- The ability to move report designs (and data providers) with an export & Import capability (e.g., from development to production environments) (BETA)
- Introducing a new job “Purge Reports” which deletes reports permanently from the Reports Library based on specified parameters
- Data Warehouse (DWH)
- Continued improvements to the DWH option to refresh the DWH instantaneously
- Ongoing updates to align Objects and Attributes from the transactional system by enabling the following Task Object attributes: Has Assignments; Has Subtasks; and Is Late
Customer Voice
- Introducing a Transactional Query Writer designed with Administrators in mind for creating simple data queries, against the (Clarity) Transactional Schema, to evaluate data for purposes of supporting Clarity users (BETA)
- Expanding the hierarchical nested grid functionality to Investments and associated Sub-objects
- Previously the nested grid was available only for OKRs
- Business Rules updates:
- Ability to configure up to 50 rules per object per blueprint up to a max total of 250 business rules per blueprint
- Increase the business rule "Name" size (from 80) to 256 characters
- Hide or Disable the Preview Action on Status Reports
- The column “Source Object” has been renamed “Target Object”
- Enhanced Health Report includes the number of entries within the Notification table
- The OBS filter has been updated to support additional filter types such as: Is Equal to; Is Not Equal to (new); Is Empty; and Is Not Empty (new)

BETA - This is a beta feature and may contain bugs, errors, and/or other issues. This feature is provided “AS IS, WITH NO WARRANTIES.” Broadcom does not guarantee the availability of this beta feature, and any outages or downtime of the beta feature will not count towards service credits pursuant to Broadcom’s service level agreement. There is no guarantee, representation, or obligation that the beta feature will ever be made generally available in future releases of the product.
This release includes improvements related to the WCAG 2.1 & 2.2 A, AA accessibility standard with the inclusion of numerous foundational accessibility improvements encompassing Visual Design (e.g., color, contrast, visible focus), Responsive Design (e.g., pop-up windows, text areas, and browser zoom), Keyboard (e.g., key input, tab order, & focus), and Screen readers (e.g., semantics, hierarchy, & pages structures).
If you are an On-Premises customer, you can download your copy of Clarity Release 16.4.0 online at Broadcom Support where you can also utilize Broadcom’s case management system. To install your product, follow the installation procedures for your product at Tech Docs. If you are a SaaS customer, your environment will be automatically upgraded to the new release at a scheduled time following the 16.4.0 GA release date. End of Service Announcement for Clarity 16.4.0
In keeping with evolving software industry practice, Clarity Product Management now communicates the End date for each release at the time of release. This change allows customers greater flexibility in your upgrade planning process. In accordance with the terms and conditions, guidelines, and parameters of Broadcom’s support program, documented in the Broadcom Maintenance Policy Handbook, please consider this communication your written notification that support for Clarity Release 16.4.0, all patch levels, all languages, will be discontinued as of November 30, 2028.

Second Notice: End of Life announcement for CA Business Intelligence (e.g., Advanced Reporting powered by Jaspersoft)
In accordance with the Broadcom Software Maintenance Policy Handbook, please consider this letter your written notification of the End of Life for CA Business Intelligence. This offering will no longer be enhanced, maintenance & technical support will be discontinued, and the SaaS version of this offering will no longer be accessible effective September 30, 2026.
Clarity SaaS customers
- For Clarity SaaS customers, CA Business Intelligence for Clarity (Clarity Advanced Reporting powered by Jaspersoft) will be removed as part of the production 16.4.3 upgrade scheduled for September 11, 2026.
Clarity on-premises customers
- Clarity on-premises customers, having installed CA Business Intelligence (e.g., Advanced Reporting powered by Jaspersoft) prior to September 30, 2026, can continue to contact Broadcom Support (Level 1) after September 30, 2026, for basic administration, configuration, usage, and trouble-shooting of CA Business Intelligence on an "as is" basis if installed in conjunction with a currently supported Clarity version.
- If a workaround cannot be determined, the customer understands that their problem will be deemed "irresolvable."
- Extended Support contracts are not specifically available for CA Business Intelligence (Advanced Reporting powered by Jaspersoft). Customers do NOT need to make any specific request to receive this Level 1 Support after September 30, 2026.
- Finally, with the release of Clarity 16.5.0 (November 9, 2026), please be aware of the following conditions:
- Jaspersoft-based reporting will no longer be available via Reports & Jobs.
- The Advanced Reporting console will no longer be available to run the following:
- Jaspersoft Studio Reports
- Ad hoc Views/Reports
- Dashboards
- Domains
- Classic Object Actions that call Jaspersoft-based reports will no longer function.
- Modern UX Channels that point to Jaspersoft-based reports will no longer function.
