Subject: End of Service Announcement for Service Virtualization 10.6
CA Technologies, a Broadcom Company is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. In accordance with the Broadcom Support Policies here, please consider this email your written notification that we are discontinuing technical support for Service Virtualization 10.6 effective March 1, 2023. This will allow our Development organization to more effectively focus its resources and add value to the next release of Service Virtualization. After March 1, 2023, Broadcom will continue to make self-service support available until the end of your current maintenance term.
There are many advantages to upgrading your software and we encourage you to plan your migration to Service Virtualization 10.7. Additionally, to get the latest vulnerability remediations, we strongly recommend you upgrade to the latest version of our software.
Some of the many enhancements made to Service Virtualization 10.7 include:
- 10.6 Workstation Compatibility: To make the upgrade process easier, older workstations (starting with 10.6) can continue to work connected to newer server components (such as 10.7). This process allows the customers to plan for their older Workstation upgrade not immediately with the SV Server components.

- API Enhancements: As part of our commitment to provide the best products to our customers, we continue to enhance the v3 API with new functionalities. Along with creating the virtual services out of VSI/VSM, we have also added the ability to specify the Active Project Configuration and identify data that is typically stored in your data folder. Additionally, when creating or updating a virtual service via RR pairs, the Think Time can be defined using the Specific or Global sidecars.

- Jenkins Plugin New Capabilities: In addition to deploying fully formed MARs, the Jenkins plugin can now support the same capabilities as in the V3 API including creating the virtual services from VSI/VSM, Request/Response Pairs, or Specification files.

- New Selective Match Style for HTTP/s JSON Services: Users can now specify a new match style and only identify mandatory arguments when determining the correct response to match.

- Introduction of SASL_SSL/SSL with Kafka: To help with authentication, data signing, and encryption for the Kafka connections, added the support for SASL or SSL_SASL support for SCRAM and Plain Authentication Mechanism.
Learn More: Kafka SASL_SSL/SSL
- GraphQL AppTest Step: We have added AppTest support for GraphQL by introducing a new GraphQL step to test GraphQL APIs via queries, variables, and mutations.
Learn More: GraphQL Step
- Visual Studio Plugin: .NET Developers can utilize the SV4dotnet library to create, update and deploy virtual services without requiring users to leave their IDE.

- Base Path in the Portal: A virtual service created in the portal can now define a Base Path. You can modify the existing Base Paths in the Manage Virtual Service section using the Portal.
Learn More: Base Path
- Contour Ingress Kubernetes Support: Devtest Kubernetes set-up now supports Contour Ingress to manage the environment traffic.
