Announcing ConnectALL 4.3: Enhanced Capabilities and User Experience
We are excited to announce the general availability of ConnectALL version 4.3! This release is packed with new features and adapter-specific enhancements designed to streamline your workflows, improve usability, and provide greater control over your data synchronization.
Highlights
- Event-driven Push Synchronization for GitHub: ConnectALL now supports real-time, webhook-based Push synchronization for GitHub Cloud and GitHub On-Premise, instantly triggering downstream updates in destination applications without waiting for scheduled polling intervals.
- Automatic Retry for Push Sync: Failed push-based synchronizations (such as unprocessed webhooks) are now automatically retried according to the automation's standard schedule, providing identical reliability and data consistency as poll-based syncs.
- New VMware vSphere Adapter: Collect virtual machine details and utilization metrics including CPU, memory, host, and cluster data and synchronize them into applications like Clarity for rolling-period consumption analysis and cost tracking.
Adapter-Specific Updates
GitHub Adapter Enhancements
- Adds event-driven Push synchronization for GitHub On-Premise and Cloud, eliminating polling latency by instantly pushing updates to destination applications (for example, Rally, Jira) when Sync Type is set to Push.
- The downstream updates are automatically pushed for the GitHub events across Issues (opening, editing, closing, reopening), Issue Comments (creating, editing), and Pull Requests (opening, merging, closing).
New VMware vSphere Adapter
- Synchronizes VM resource metrics (CPU usage, memory utilization, costs) and logical entities (vCenter Instances, Data Centers, Clusters, ESXi Hosts, Resource Pools, Virtual Machines) into destination applications like Clarity.
- Supports Time-Scaled Value metrics and dynamic date mapping via a new _DATE system field to track resource consumption trends over rolling periods.
- Supports unidirectional synchronization only. Data flows securely from vSphere to the destination applications; ConnectALL does not write or synchronize data back to vSphere.
Clarity Adapter Enhancements
- New TSV Fields for VCF Utilization: Record timesheet and utilization data into relative Smart-Date windows by mapping boundary fields (TSV Start and TSV End) alongside the _DATE system field.
- Symmetric Related Field Configuration: Ensure TSV value fields and period boundary fields are configured symmetrically in both directions. This ensures period boundaries and updated TSV values are always packaged together in the synchronization payload.
ConnectALL MCP Server (Beta)
- New Model Context Protocol server enables natural-language interaction with ConnectALL data and workflows via external AI assistants, IDEs, and MCP-compatible clients.
ConnectALL Platform Enhancements
- Automatic Retry for Push Sync: Automatic retry for Push sync type failures (for example, unprocessed GitHub webhooks), matching existing Poll sync retry behavior.
- Cross-Adapter Support for Translate Record ID: Translate record ID capabilities have been expanded, allowing you to select automations beyond those of the original source adapter.
- Automation Schedules Lock Status Filter: Easily locate and manage automations in the Automation Schedules section using the new Lock Status filter (ALL, Locked, or Unlocked).
- Instance URL Configuration for Install/Upgrade: To strengthen security, fresh installations and upgrades to version 4.3 require specifying your ConnectALL instance URL within the connectall.properties file.
- Installer Abort Handling: Improved deployment integrity; the installer automatically halts execution if an error occurs during Database script or Liquibase execution on fresh installs or upgrades.
- Extended Batch Processing Support: Batch processing capabilities have been extended to the Flat File and vSphere adapters.
