Subject: General Availability Announcement for Layer7 API Developer Portal 5.4
The Layer7 product group of Broadcom's IMS division is pleased to announce that the Layer7 API Developer Portal 5.4 is now available. This release provides key enhancements based on customer feedback and user experience improvements.
Congratulations to the team for reaching this important milestone and for continuing to deliver value to our customers.
Here are the highlights of this Layer7 API Developer Portal release:
- Custom Role Management - provides the ability to create and manage new roles with granular permissions providing flexibility beyond the out of the box roles included with the Portal by default.
- Product Manager Role - a new out-of-the-box role that allows a business user to define and manage API Products including tiers and organization access to the products.
- Bulk API Editing - multiple APIs may now be edited at once to change common fields and to perform actions such as publishing an API. EULA, State, Access Type, Version, and Managing Organization are supported for bulk editing in this release (additional fields are planned for a future release).
- Improved Filter Management - filters and columns may now be shown or hidden on the APIs page providing an enhanced user experience. The filter and column settings will be maintained in the browser session.
- Filtering by Product Tiers has also been added to provide improved visibility into tier usage
- Filter by Compliance has been added to quickly find the compliance status of APIs
- Enhanced DCR Authentication Management - the Portal’s support for API Key registration with external OAuth providers using Dynamic Client Registration (DCR) has been enhanced to provide dynamic token retrieval for Portal authentication with the provider. Credential size has also been expanded for use of static tokens.
- One-step API removal - deletion of an API is now able to be streamlined to have the Portal remove any references to the API after a user confirmation. Previously deletion required the user to manually remove all references to the API. Note for Gateway-published APIs, the Portal will also now remove historical references to a previously deleted API such that the API may now be republished if desired.
- Public API Catalog - if enabled, the Portal UI will now display the public API catalog without requiring a user to login.
- Enhanced Email Template Management - The /tenant-admin/1.0/email-templates endpoint now lets you manage all email templates.

Please take note of the following:
- API Plans and API Groups - As announced previously with the Portal 5.3.1 release, both API Plans and API Groups are deprecated in favor of API Products. While these will not be removed immediately, it is important to evaluate your use of API Plans and API Groups and work with Broadcom to identify any blockers that may prevent the migration to API Products.
For a complete list of enhancements, changes and deprecated capabilities, please see the release notes, deprecated features, and product documentation for more information.
NOTE: The Broadcom private repository for Helm images will be updated with the release artifacts soon. Once available, the ability to get an access token will be enabled on the Broadcom Support download site.
