Subject: General Availability Announcement for Clarity Release 16.3.2

On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that Clarity Release 16.3.2 is now available for On-Premises and SaaS customers.

New features for Clarity Release 16.3.2 include:

 Expanding to Projects and Products

  • Frictionless Cost Accounting (aka Frictionless Time)
    • New Time Entry user action, Add Assigned Tasks (with ETC), which will automatically populate Timesheets from Assignments
      • A corresponding new job is available to automatically populate Timesheets based on Assignments (e.g., Populate Timesheets)
    • Team is available to the Time Entry user in Timesheets and for individual Transactions
    • Introducing a new (aggregation type) toggle on the Cost Plan Properties page which will to support Actuals roll-up including all children in grid
    • Timesheets created from Rally includes Rally artifacts having moved directly from the "Idea" to "Accepted" state for the selected defined period
    • Within a Timesheet, the ETC value for Time Entry ‘Effort’ Tasks (e.g., rmw) will display read-only values until the Post Timesheet job is executed
    • The Timesheet Integration job has been updated to include: ‘Team Investment’ parameter; the ability to be scheduled (in addition to manual execution); and the ability to be cancelled
    • Actual Cost is populated for Assignments after the Post Timesheet job is executed for Financial Work Type time entries
    • ​​Timesheet Rule Administrators have a visual indicator that Task level rules will not be applied to Financial Work Type time entries
    • When the Time Entry user adds a Task to a Timesheet, a single Task for the Team (only) is added, when the Time Entry user is part of a Team and the Investment is configured to 'Allow Unstaffed Resources'
    • If 'Allow Unstaffed Resources' check box is selected on an Investment Template, all new Investments created from the template will honor the configuration
    • Timesheets have a new method to indicate if a Time Entry was sourced from “Rally” as a Financial Work Type entry, or ‘ETC’ as a populate assigned Tasks (with ETC) entry
    • The Import Integrations job has been improved to indicate if errors occurred when importing Rally Portfolio Items and Teams (e.g., Projects)
    • The Capital Approval attribute is available from MUX > Administration > Attributes and is field level security (FLS) enabled

 

Lifecycle & Workflow Management

  • Agreements Expansion
    • Agreements are now available from the Investment details flyout in Hierarchies
    • Agreements are now available from the Roadmap Item details flyout (for linked Investments)
    • End user option to hide Agreement lines in the Timeline view (only show Agreement icon)
    • Administrators can configure Sub-objects on Agreements
    • Agreements now support business rules (e.g., Action Items & Notifications)
    • Agreements are now Process enabled
    • Agreements, including Predecessor & Successor are available in the Data Warehouse

 

People-Centric Planning

  • Staffing Workspace
    • Provide visual indicators and filtering tools to identify changes to default (per-period) allocations and dates (e.g., start & finish)
    • Introducing the ‘Resource Summary’ mode to streamline resource management with added visualizations
    • Additional Staffing Actions to reallocate or replace Staff for the total allocation or for a partial date range
    • Improving Staff scenarios with added capability ‘reset changes’ or ‘apply changes’ for multiple investments
  • Resource Directory upgraded to General Availability (GA) status (removed the BETA label)

 

3 A’s of AI (Ask, Act, Advise) (BETA)

  • Expand Vaia’s (f.k.a. Clarity Concierge) capabilities to enable customers to manage their own prompts for existing AI functionality

 

Business Intelligence (Includes Foundations for Future Insights) (BETA)

  • Additional capabilities to the new ‘Reporting’ workspace supporting the Report Designer, and Report Viewer, with Data Provider design and Data Warehouse updates
  • Report Viewer
    • The end user can schedule one or more reports for delivery
    • A scheduled report (including all report Tabs) is delivered in Power Point format
    • Individual report Tabs can be exported to Power Point format
  • Report Designer
    • A Preview mode is now available
    • Interactive filtering is available such that when selecting a bar chart element or pie chart slice will filter other widgets using the selected item as filter criteria
    • Support for Standard Calendar per-period metrics (in addition to Fiscal Calendar)
    • Configure tab-level filters with the option to expose to the Report Viewer
    • Added ability to apply OBS attributes to report filters
    • Ability to schedule one or more reports for delivery
  • Data Providers (building blocks for the new reporting solution)
    • Provide the ability to browse the Data Warehouse schema when writing (Data Provider) queries
    • The View Options ‘decimal display options’ settings are respected for queries containing metrics
  • Data Warehouse (DWH)
    • Continued improvements to the DWH option to refresh the DWH instantaneously (support for MS SQL Server)
    • Ongoing updates to align Objects and Attributes from the transactional system
      • New lookup table for Resources, which excludes Non-Labor Resources
      • Task Percent Complete
      • Renamed Checklist Parent ID to Parent Type​​)

 

Customer Voice

  • Provide end-users with standard right-click mouse actions to open a Clarity link in a new browser or window *
  • Providing the Administrator the ability to define & configure Blueprint Sub-Tabs for additional attribute grouping which is exposed to the end user on the Properties module *
  • Provide the ability to drill down to actuals, within a Cost Plan or Budget, directly from the Totals row
  • Provide users the ability to update Forecast values at the Investment level if Planned amount are changed in the Cost Plan
  • A new System option which allows Timesheet to be submitted without any Tasks
  • A new end-user option for Custom (Master) Objects and Custom Sub-objects to manually rank grid items and the ranking value will automatically adjust *
  • Provide a link to navigate end-users from an Action Item notification directly to the specific Action Item within My Workspace
  • Data type and Extended Data type attributes are available from MUX > Administration > Attributes
  • Impersonate a user functionality updated to only require users to have the ‘Impersonate a user’ access right (removed the requirement to also have the 'Administration - Users - Navigate' access right)
  • Global Search capability upgraded to Beta status (removed the ALPHA label)

This release includes improvements related to the WCAG 2.1 & 2.2 A, AA accessibility standard with the inclusion of numerous foundational accessibility improvements encompassing Visual Design (e.g., color, contrast, visible focus), Responsive Design (e.g., pop-up windows, text areas, and browser zoom), Keyboard (e.g., key input, tab order, & focus), and Screen readers (e.g., semantics, hierarchy, & pages structures).

If you are an On-Premises customer, you can download your copy of Clarity Release 16.3.2 online at Broadcom Support where you can also utilize Broadcom’s case management system. To install your product, follow the installation procedures for your product at Tech Docs. If you are a SaaS customer, your environment will be automatically upgraded to the new release at a scheduled time following the 16.3.2 GA release date.
