Subject: General Availability Announcement for Clarity Release 16.3.0
On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that Clarity Release 16.3.0 is now available for On Premise and SaaS customers.
New features for Clarity Release 16.3.0 include:
People-Centric Planning
- Staffing scenarios
- Staffing managers can create, compare, copy, delete, and share Staffing Scenarios to understand the impact of different investment schedules and resource allocation models *
- Administrators can manage Staffing Scenario Name, Owner, and Description fields and end-user sharing ability across all scenarios.
- Introducing an Investment Timeline view with support for scenarios, swimlanes, configurable filtering, and ‘Target’ widgets
- Include the ‘Target’ Widget type within the Allocation by Investment, Allocations by Resource, Assignment by Investment, Assignments by Resource and Staff modules.
- Additional user personalization options, including yellow or orange for Over/Under allocation thresholds (in addition to red and green) for use in the Staffing Workspace, Resource Directory, and Relationship Explorer
- Improved the ‘Edit Allocations’ modal to include the Investment ID
- Staffing managers can create, compare, copy, delete, and share Staffing Scenarios to understand the impact of different investment schedules and resource allocation models *
Customer Voice
- Widget enhancements:
- Interactive widgets when enabled, users can now interact with Pie, Bar, Number, Progress Ring, and Target Widgets to filter data displayed in a Timeline, Board, or Grid view *
- Includes a quality-of-life improvement reducing the whitespace consumed in the Widgets tray
- Filter enhancements:
- Ability to use the same filter field multiple times within a single filter group *
- The open or close state of the configurable filter panel will be remembered per user across Workspaces and Objects
- Field Level Security (FLS) has been expanded to control updates to per-period metrics *
- Automatically clear Parameterized Lookup values (including required), if the values are no longer valid with the associated source attribute to maintain data integrity
- Administrators have a system option to automatically delete unsaved Views when a user logs out *
- Performance improvements related to adding and removing grid columns (e.g., refresh the page after multiple columns are added to a grid vs. refresh the page after each column is added to a grid)
Transforming Investment Management
- Deliver Timesheet notifications to the Bell notification center and enable users to configure their Timesheet notification preference
- Investment Managers (or Administrators) can ‘unlock’ an investment directly from a selected Project or Custom Investment
- The '% Complete Calculation Method' is now available for all Investment types (e.g., Projects, Ideas, and Custom Investments) *
- Per-period metrics (e.g., Planned Revenue, Planned Actual Revenue, Budget Revenue, and Budget Actual Revenue) are now available for Investments and Hierarchies
- Increased the Investment Object ‘Description’ field to 1,333 characters to match that of the Roadmap ‘Description’ field
Lifecycle & Workflow Management
- Introducing the ability to convert an approved Idea to a Custom Investment via the action framework (not process)
- Control granting and removing instance access rights via Business Rules *
Business Intelligence (includes Bigger Better Reporting) (BETA)
- Introducing a new ‘Reporting’ workspace with Data Provider design
- Data Providers serving as the building blocks for the new reporting solution
- Delivered out-of-the-box data providers
- Administrators can either create a data provider or copy an out of the box data provider to preview and export data
- Basic join conditions are automatically added when a new data provider is created
- Data Warehouse (DWH)
- New DWH option to ‘Include Sql Curve data’ which will create time-varying attributes in the data warehouse as an alternative to the Fact tables
- The curve tables are required for the Data Providers to display Per-Period Metrics
- Ongoing updates to align Objects and Attributes from the transactional system (e.g., Latest Status Report)

Clarity Connections (Clarity-Rally integration)
- Improve synchronization error condition information presented to Clarity end users
- Relax synchronization rules for user email addresses to be case insensitive
3 A’s of AI (Ask, Act, Advise) (BETA)
- Expand Vaia’s (f.k.a. Clarity Concierge) capabilities to summarize the content of a selected Roadmap from the Timeline view

This feature is provided “AS IS, WITH NO WARRANTIES.” Broadcom does not guarantee the availability of this beta feature, and any outages or downtime of the beta feature will not count towards service credits pursuant to Broadcom’s service level agreement. There is no guarantee, representation, or obligation that the beta feature will ever be made generally available in future releases of the product.
This release includes improvements related to the WCAG 2.1 & 2.2 A, AA accessibility standard with the inclusion of numerous foundational accessibility improvements encompassing Visual Design (e.g., color, contrast, visible focus), Responsive Design (e.g., pop-up windows, text areas, and browser zoom), Keyboard (e.g., key input, tab order, & focus), and Screen readers (e.g., semantics, hierarchy, & pages structures).
If you are an On-Premises customer, you can download your copy of Clarity Release 16.3.0 online at Broadcom Support where you can also utilize Broadcom’s case management system. To install your product, follow the installation procedures for your product at Tech Docs. If you are a SaaS customer, your environment will be automatically upgraded to the new release at a scheduled time following the 16.3.0 GA release date.
