Subject: General Availability Announcement for Clarity Release 16.2.2

On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that Clarity Release 16.2.2 is now available for On Premise and SaaS customers.

New features for Clarity Release 16.2.2 include:

 Customer Voice

  • Administration
    • Provide the Administrator the ability to set the 'Unit of Measure' for all users *
    • Include a separate Administration tile for ‘Actions’ *
    • Ability to update a user password via API
    • Ability to Impersonate a user via API *
    • Improved user experience for organizing and grouping the Administration tiles
  • Views
    • Include a separate Administration tile for managing ‘Views’ *
    • Creating new views using ‘Save As’ automatically sets sharing to ‘Private’
  • Filters
    • Reorganize filter chips, via drag and drop, within the same Filter Group or across Filter Groups *
    • ​​Introduce a unique visual treatment for active and inactive filter chips *
  • Conditionally format grid cells or rows, using background color with bold, italic or strikethrough font style, when specified attributes meet a predetermined condition *
  • Remember an individual user’s export to PDF ‘Size & Orientation’ selections across Timelines and Canvases *
  • In order to be more concise, rename the ‘Common Investment’ object attribute grouping to ‘Investment’
  • The maximum number of configured Table Widget columns within a Canvas has been increased from 10 to 20
  • Canvas: Tooltip support for all attribute data types
  • Improved user experience for the Auto-Suggest drop-down to include visible column header labels
  • Updated Status Report Cost and Effort widgets to calculate the ‘Spent’ metric for CITs and Ideas

People-Centric Planning

  • Resource Directory: Provide the ability to search using Name and ID (BETA)
  • Relationship Explorer: Introduce a Resource Manager perspective with the ability to view all people or overallocated people (BETA)
  • Staffing workspace
    • Introducing a ‘Resource Summary Mode’ histogram in the Staff module
    • Timeline pagination for performance improvements
    • Administrative option to hide/show attributes in the Timeline and Grid views
  • The Resource object ‘Category’ attribute is now API enabled.
  • Canvas: Updated to include Resource object fields when the Staff Target Object is selected *
  • Plans: Improved user experience for managing reviews and approvals between higher and lower-level plans (BETA)

 Work for the Rest of Us

  • Mobile
    • Support the administrative timesheet setting for ‘Time Entry Increment’ rounding
    • Ability to drag and drop To Dos and Sections within a Checklist
    • Ability to upload and/or view To Dos attachments
  • Users are able to create To Dos in Hierarchy modules (e.g., Tasks, Key Results, Risks, Issues, and Change Requests)
  • Usability improvements for My Workspace Action Items, including ‘Search’
  • Ability to attach files to To Dos and view them in multiple Clarity workspaces

 Transforming Investment Management

  • Custom Investment Type (CIT) & Team Investments Timeline users can auto-schedule or create a tentative schedule with the ability to auto-shift successor Tasks *
  • Improved user experience when creating a Risk, Issue, or Change Request from an existing Risk, Issue, or Change Request (e.g., copy Name, Description, Category Type, and Assigned To fields)
  • Update the Properties and Details fly-out to share the same business logic as Classic for displaying Investment Status options *
  • Updated the 'Is Team' virtual attribute to be available for resource processes
  • Timesheet quality of life & accessibility improvements
    • The Time Period carousel is now a date picker
    • The Timesheet Status is displayed as a badge
    • Investments are displayed in bold font
    • Tasks are indented with hyperlinking to the Tasks module
    • The Add Tasks modal will search using Investment Name and ID
    • The Notes panel includes both Timesheet level and Time Entry level Notes
    • The Vendor attribute is available in the Timesheets grid
    • The Resource Name in the Timesheets grid is a hyperlink to open the Review & Approval modal for submitted timesheets
    • From an accessibility perspective, My Timesheet will be keyboard and screen reader compliant with up/down/left/right arrow keys to navigate the daily time entry fields

 OKR Management

  • Objective Canvas updated to support associated Investments as a Target Object
  • Objective Investment module column panel, filtering, widgets, and fly-out behavior updated to honor Objective Blueprint Investment selections
  • A new Investments module is available for the Objective Hierarchy
  • Objective Hierarchy Canvas updated to support associated Investments as a Target Object

 Strategic & Top-Down Planning

  • Hierarchies
    • Improved user experience for ‘panning’ the Hierarchy Tree using the mouse dragging technique with quick access to edit mode to make Tree changes
    • Introducing an Agreements module for Investment Hierarchies
  • Roadmaps
    • Pin the Events swimlane at the top of the Roadmap Timeline view while scrolling up or down the page
    • Introducing a Checklists module for To Dos

 Lifecycle & Workflow Management

  • Business Rules
    • Control sub-object add, edit, and delete actions based upon Parent conditions *
    • Use Parent attributes in sub-object rules
    • Support actions to disable editing or hiding Rich Text attributes
    • Send notifications based upon a rule-based or action item attribute update
    • Visually indicate when an attribute is read-only due to a business rule

 3 A’s of AI (Ask, Act, Advise) (BETA)

  • Extended capabilities to generate content for Rich Text attributes
    • Support for multiple AI services
    • Ability to view prompt sent to AI for content generation
    • Ability to generate or revise content for any Rich Text field within master objects and select sub-objects
    • Ability to secure AI service to specific Clarity access groups

There is no guarantee, representation, or obligation that the beta feature will ever be made generally available in future releases of the product.

This release includes improvements related to the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standard with the inclusion of numerous foundational accessibility improvements encompassing Visual design (e.g., color, contrast, visible focus), Responsive Design (e.g., pop-up windows, text areas, and browser zoom), Keyboard (e.g., key input, tab order, & focus), and Screen readers (e.g., semantics, hierarchy, & pages structures) in view of WCAG 2.1 AA requirements

If you are an On-Premise customer, you can download your copy of Clarity Release 16.2.2 online at Broadcom Support where you can also utilize Broadcom’s case management system. To install your product, follow the installation procedures for your product at Tech Docs. If you are a SaaS customer, your environment will be automatically upgraded to the new release at a scheduled time following the 16.2.2 GA release date. NOTE ABOUT THE “FINANCIAL PLANS” MODULE: On May 22, 2023 all customers were informed of the plan to remove the Project Financial Plans module with the release of Clarity 16.2.2 (May 2024). Broadcom will be deprecating the Project Financial Plans module in the May 2024 release (16.2.2). The Project Financial Plans module will no longer be available or enhanced. Maintenance and technical support will be discontinued effective May 20, 2024. Customers should transition to the Financials module as a direct replacement. For product information about the Financials module, refer to Clarity’s Tech Docs or Training Academy.

END OF SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: In keeping with evolving software industry practice, Clarity Product Management now communicates the End date for each release at the time of release. This change allows customers greater flexibility in your upgrade planning process. In accordance with the Broadcom Service/End of Life Policy within the “Working with CA Support” guide available at Broadcom Support Online, please consider this communication your written notification that support for Clarity Release 16.2.2, all patch levels, all languages, will be discontinued as of November 30, 2026.
