Subject: Reminder - End of Life Announcement for CA Software Asset Manager

 

CA Technologies, a Broadcom company, is continually working to improve CA software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. To focus our development efforts and to help our customer base achieve their strategic business initiatives, we are investing our resources in new technology and software and will be discontinuing technical support on CA Software Asset Manager.  In accordance with the terms and conditions, guidelines, and parameters of Broadcom’s support program, documented in the Broadcom Support Maintenance Policy Handbook, please consider this email your written notification of End of Life for CA Software Asset Manager. This notification means CA Software Asset Manager will no longer be enhanced and maintenance and technical support will be discontinued effective 31st May 2022.  After 31st May 2022, Broadcom will continue to make self-service support available until the end of your current maintenance term.

 

Broadcom OEM’d Aspera SmartTrack/License Management and rebranded it as Software Asset Manager (SAM). ‘Aspera SmartTrack/License Management’ & ‘Software Asset Manager’ are functionally equivalent solutions. We encourage you to engage directly with USU Solutions (Previously Aspera), the Software Asset Manager's OEM vendor for ongoing maintenance and support. Broadcom would not be providing a replacement product for CA Software Asset Manager.

 

Broadcom would like to make your transition to Aspera Smart Track/License Management  as straightforward as possible, so we offer the following assistance:

 

  • Based on the decision to continue using Software Asset Manager, the Account Directors & CPM teams would engage the Aspera team to be introduced to the customer. Aspera would onboard the customer into their ecosystem.
  • After 31st May 2022, Broadcom will continue to make self-service support available until the end of your current maintenance term.
