DLP Agent fresh installations fail on macOS 12.3 and 12.3.1

Background: Customers of Symantec Data Loss Prevention 15.8.x have reported that the DLP Agent service fails to start after completing a fresh installation of the DLP Agent on Intel-based macOS 12.3 and macOS 12.3.1 systems. The issue does not occur when the DLP Agent is installed on an earlier version of macOS and then macOS is updated to version 12.3 or version 12.3.1.

Symantec is working on a resolution for this issue and will release updated information at the earliest opportunity.

Workaround: Symantec recommends that you install the DLP Agent before upgrading endpoints to macOS 12.3 or macOS 12.3.1.
