Subject: General Availability Announcement for Clarity Release 16.4.2
On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that Clarity Release 16.4.2 is now available for On-Premises and SaaS customers.
With the release of Clarity 16.4.2 we have made enhancements to the following capabilities:
Customer Voice
- Ability to share “Saved Views” across Roadmaps
- Investments within Hierarchies can be auto imported at scheduled intervals using filters.
- Ability to default the current user as a value for custom Resource and User attributes in Studio
- Introducing “Investments” as a new module within blueprints.
Clarity’s AI Enhancements
- General AI Panel Enhancements
- Ability to save AI chats.
- Ability to use object specific attachment documents in AI Agents
- Admins can now define AI Agents using Prompt Library
- Added support for Anthropic AI Service
- Introducing Clarity's MCP Server to manage timesheets
SPM Command Center
- Event Association with Investments, RICs, Tasks, Custom Investment type Sub-Objects
- New 'Events' field on associated objects available in Data Warehouse for reporting
- Ability to pull in different types of Events within Hierarchies to view and manage Punchlist items across Events
- Ability to add a “Punchlist” module within Hierarchies blueprint to view various Event type investments.
- Cost Plans now support the ability to associate lookup attributes as an additional grouping attribute.
Foundations for Future Insights (fka Business Intelligence)
Enhancements to Data Warehouse (DWH)
- Addition of several task dependencies attributes in DWH
- Addition of the following attributes to DWH (Status Report), Days Late %, Default Allocation %
- Addition of OBS structure and Department object attributes to DWH.
- Added support to include Rich Text and Large String attributes in the DWH with formatting (markup).
- Introducing Data Warehouse Schema Explorer (BETA)
Enhancements to OData Service
- Support for Windows Installer
- Availability of row level security for SaaS customers
Enhancements to Data Providers
- Ability to use Database Links, to Clarity transactional or any other external database, when defining queries within Data Provider. (On Premise Customers)
- Ability to display mapping colors for attributes, dimensions, and metrics in Data Providers.
- Enhance Calculated Attributes in Data Providers to improve the error messages.
- Added any new operations to support in expressions for calculated attributes
- New capability to display Metric Calculated Attributes as a percentage
Enhancements to Report Designer
- Ability to configure the styling and filters on the subreport
- Ability to map parameters to a subreport
- Enhanced subreport widget options
- Enhanced “Group By” to use display mapping value instead of actual value in tables and charts.
- Ability to select and display Large strings in Attribute Groups
- Ability to add footers with Owner, Scheduler, Date/Time & Page Indicator with Option to Repeat within reports.
- Improved Number Tile value display
- Ability to define manual color selection for chart slice and bar colors.
- Ability to override selective Per-Period Metrics options at Tab and Widget level
- Column Selector Font Style Change
- Ability to associate Start/End Dates in Period Settings to dates in the Filter.
- Introducing a new capability to group dates in a specified selected date format
- Added several date group formats
- Ability to copy widgets across tabs within a report
- Ability to copy tabs across reports
- Ability to perform separate value aggregations at different group-by levels
- Ability to hide field modals to top tab
- Ability to expand tree hierarchy based on the unit structure defined on the OBS definition
- Enhanced the Table widget by introducing hierarchical data visualization, specifically tailored for Task-based tree structures
- Ability to apply conditional formatting rules to group rows (levels 1-3) and total rows
- Ability to add the attribute back to the grid after grouping with respective attribute.
- Option to display only per period numeric values in an abbreviated (compact) format.
- Added support for multi-currency conversion for any money attribute value in Reports
Enhancements to Reports
- Ability to export, manual or scheduled, tree hierarchical structure, within table widget, as defined by the user.
- Ability to export a single table to Excel.
- Prevent distributing empty reports
- Ability to 'revert' unit of measure, Period, and Filters back to the last saved state
- Ability to perform Calculations at the Group Level instead of Aggregating
- Introducing a new system setting in Clarity that will control whether OBS attributes are required for Reports and Data Providers during creation and update
- Introducing the ability to add Report as a Module on Blueprints and Pass Parameters

BETA - This is a beta feature and may contain bugs, errors, and/or other issues. This feature is provided “AS IS, WITH NO WARRANTIES.” Broadcom does not guarantee the availability of this beta feature, and any outages or downtime of the beta feature will not count towards service credits pursuant to Broadcom’s service level agreement. There is no guarantee, representation, or obligation that the beta feature will ever be made generally available in future releases of the product.
This release includes improvements related to the WCAG 2.1 & 2.2 A, AA accessibility standard with the inclusion of numerous foundational accessibility improvements encompassing Visual Design (e.g., color, contrast, visible focus), Responsive Design (e.g., pop-up windows, text areas, and browser zoom), Keyboard (e.g., key input, tab order, & focus), and Screen readers (e.g., semantics, hierarchy, & pages structures).
If you are an On-Premises customer, you can download your copy of Clarity Release 16.4.2 online at Broadcom Support where you can also utilize Broadcom’s case management system. To install your product, follow the installation procedures for your product at Tech Docs. If you are a SaaS customer, your environment will be automatically upgraded to the new release at a scheduled time following the 16.4.2 GA release date. End of Service Announcement for Clarity 16.4.2
In keeping with evolving software industry practice, Clarity Product Management now communicates the End date for each release at the time of release. This change allows customers greater flexibility in your upgrade planning process. In accordance with the terms and conditions, guidelines, and parameters of Broadcom’s support program, documented in the Broadcom Maintenance Policy Handbook, please consider this communication your written notification that support for Clarity Release 16.4.2, all patch levels, all languages, will be discontinued as of November 30, 2028.
- Please review the Clarity Release and Support Lifecycle Dates available at Broadcom Support.
Fourth Notice: End of Life announcement for CA Business Intelligence (e.g., Advanced Reporting powered by Jaspersoft)
In accordance with the Broadcom Software Maintenance Policy Handbook, please consider this letter your written notification of the End of Life for CA Business Intelligence. This offering will no longer be enhanced, maintenance & technical support will be discontinued, and the SaaS version of this offering will no longer be accessible effective September 30, 2026.
Clarity SaaS customers
- For Clarity SaaS customers, CA Business Intelligence for Clarity (Clarity Advanced Reporting powered by Jaspersoft) will be removed as part of a production upgrade currently scheduled for September 11, 2026.
Clarity on-premises customers
- Clarity on-premises customers, having installed CA Business Intelligence (e.g., Advanced Reporting powered by Jaspersoft) prior to September 30, 2026, can continue to contact Broadcom Support (Level 1) after September 30, 2026, for basic administration, configuration, usage, and trouble-shooting of CA Business Intelligence on an "as is" basis if installed in conjunction with a currently supported Clarity version.
- If a workaround cannot be determined, the customer understands that their problem will be deemed "irresolvable."
- Extended Support contracts are not specifically available for CA Business Intelligence (Advanced Reporting powered by Jaspersoft). Customers do NOT need to make any specific request to receive this Level 1 Support after September 30, 2026.
- Finally, with a currently scheduled release of Clarity on November 9, 2026, please be aware of the following conditions:
- Jaspersoft-based reporting will no longer be available via Reports & Jobs.
- The Advanced Reporting console will no longer be available to run the following:
- Jaspersoft Studio Reports
- Ad hoc Views/Reports
- Dashboards
- Domains
- Classic Object Actions that call Jaspersoft-based reports will no longer function.
- Modern UX Channels that point to Jaspersoft-based reports will no longer function.
