Subject: UPDATED: Deprecation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux® 7 as a supported platform for DX NetOps
Broadcom is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. In accordance with the Broadcom Support Policies here, please consider this email your written notification that DX NetOps is stopping support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 effective August 15, 2025. This deprecation notice also applies to the Linux binary-compatible variants corresponding to RHEL 7 according to the policy noted at the end of this notice. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12 and openSUSE 42.3 are also being deprecated.

Support for Linux Reference Platform Versions (refer to most recent policy here)
DX NetOps Development, Quality Assurance, and Broadcom Support have tested using a particular Linux distribution, which we refer to as the Linux reference platform. DX NetOps supports the Linux reference platform versions listed in the "Linux" section. Broadcom defines a variant of the Linux reference platform to be any distribution of Linux that is considered to be binary-compatible with the Linux reference platform. For example, Broadcom considers Rocky Linux to be a Linux binary-compatible variant for RHEL.
To facilitate a quick resolution and to isolate the root cause of any potential DX NetOps issues that you might encounter when running on a Linux variant, Broadcom has established the following Support requirements for the DX NetOps product that you operate in these environments:
- You have installed DX NetOps with a current General Availability (GA) version of a Linux reference platform or with the prior minor versions of that environment. Exceptions are noted in the documentation for that component.
- You are responsible for properly configuring your Linux variant.
- You are responsible for having an active maintenance agreement for both the DX NetOps product and for the Linux variant.
- While Broadcom does not require that you recreate each issue on a Linux reference platform before opening a Support issue, Broadcom Support might request that you diagnose and troubleshoot specific issues on the Linux reference platform. Support will request this when the reported issue is directly related to the Linux variant environment or when they cannot reliably reproduce the issue on a Linux reference platform.
- The Linux variants are diverse; Broadcom Support might require extra time to understand, collect data, troubleshoot, and possibly reproduce reported issues.
- If Broadcom Support cannot identify the root cause as a Broadcom or a Linux variant issue, you can open a Support issue with the Linux variant vendor and any other necessary third-party vendors to expedite the resolution of the issue. We can work together toward a resolution.
Any known issues with running DX NetOps on specific Linux variants are noted in the Known Issues topic for that DX NetOps product.
