Dear Broadcom Customer:

The purpose of this Critical Alert is to remind you about the breaking changes with the SSL update coming on October 9th.  Please read the information provided below and follow the instructions in order to avoid being impacted by this update.

PRODUCT(S) AFFECTED: API services for VIP

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

Symantec VIP is changing the SSL certificates that we use with ones that will chain to the G2 root CA. This change is happening on October 9th,. The SSL certificates will be updated on the API-based endpoints, impacting those certificates used by VIP Enterprise Gateway, and the various plug-ins or custom clients that integrate with the VIP Authentication Service. This does not affect admin certificates used to access API's that were downloaded from VIP Manager.

IMPACT:
Older EGW versions, plugins and custom clients  that do not have the proper G2 root CA available will fail to connect to the cloud service.

PROBLEM RESOLUTION:
As outlined in prior communications about the SSL certificate change as well as in the Knowledge article explaining the required actions, it's imperitive that you upgrade to the 9.11 version of the Enterprise Gateway (or use the certificate loader on 9.10 vesions) and also upgrade all EGW plugins that are being used (ADFS, IIS, Apache) to versions that support the newer SSL certificates.

The maintenance event for this change can be seen on the VIP service status page. We suggest you subscribe for notifications on that page to recieve updates about this activity.
