Subject: General Availability Announcement for Clarity Release 16.2.1
On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that Clarity Release 16.2.1 is now available for On-Premise and SaaS customers.
New features for Clarity Release 16.2.1 include:
Customer Voice
- Ability to enable or disable selective features for a period of time determined by Broadcom
- New breadcrumb navigation combined with a new page header layout
- Administrators can control which users can share Views with everyone via the action framework *
- Updated the grid column filter button behavior to avoid unwanted column sorting
- Business Rules
- Added support for 3rd level Sub-Objects *
- Disable deletion for non-investment Target Objects and Sub-Objects *
- Added ‘required attribute’ support for Custom Object Sub-Objects
- CSV import honors configured business rules
- Improved user experience to access product technical documentation, announcements, and what’s new information
- Ability for end users to select another language without having to log out and log in *
- Update Clarity’s Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) so that ‘button’ text contains the appropriate capitalization in English and other supported languages (e.g., French)
- Removed toggle for the localization of unsupported languages
People-Centric Planning
- Resource Manager Directory diagram (BETA)
- Relationship Explorer with visualization of investment managers sharing resources (BETA)
- Provide view-only access to Resource attributes from within the Staff module *
- Ability to configure Business Rules on the Resources Blueprint
- Introduced a Staffing Blueprint with configuration options to hide or position modules in the Staffing workspace
- Plans in Workforce Modeling (BETA)
- Improved filtering when using the expandable tree
- Improved table usability displaying a cell as empty instead of zeros
- Separate Add & Remove options for Current Year & Planning Year
- Optionally include Investment & Resource attributes and Version in the Staff module
- Improved ability to publish, approve, & recall (including publish all)

- View & manage sections within a Checklist
- View timesheet validation rules from within an error panel
- Hide Timesheet menu option based upon user access rights
- Hide the Timesheet hours gauge based on Clarity administrative setting
- Enable users to access a specific (mobile) page via supplied URL
Transforming Investment Management
- Configuration option to display Milestone Timeline names & dates in the Status (Report) Canvas *
- Configuration option to ensure Timesheet entry increments are enforced *
- Support for external Tasks dependencies *
- An option to disable the logic associated with Risk and Issue Target Resolution & Impact Dates *
- Ability to Copy Risks, Issues, and Change Requests
- Ability to create Risks, Issues, or Change Requests from a Risk, Issue, or Change Request with link to originating item *
- Extending the Board view to Investment Risks, Issues, and Change Requests
- Update the Modern user experience grids to share the same business logic as the Classic user experience for displaying Investment Status options *
- Export to PDF support extended to the Custom Investment Tasks Timeline

- Both SaaS and On-Premise Customers are supported

BETA - This is a beta feature and may contain bugs, errors and/or other issues. This feature is provided “AS IS, WITH NO WARRANTIES.” Broadcom does not guarantee the availability of this beta feature, and any outages or downtime of the beta feature will not count towards service credits pursuant to Broadcom’s service level agreement. There is no guarantee, representation, or obligation that the beta feature will ever be made generally available in future releases of the product.
If you are an On-Premise customer, you can download your copy of Clarity Release 16.2.1 online at Broadcom Support where you can also utilize Broadcom’s case management system. To install your product, follow the installation procedures for your product at Tech Docs. If you are a SaaS customer, your environment will be automatically upgraded to the new release at a scheduled time following the 16.2.1 GA release date. NOTE ABOUT THE “FINANCIAL PLANS” MODULE: Broadcom is announcing the deprecation of the Project Financial Plans module, which is scheduled to be removed in the May 2024 release (16.2.2). The Project Financial Plans module will no longer be enhanced, and maintenance and technical support will be discontinued effective May 20, 2024. Customers should use the Project Financials module in lieu of this functionality.
END OF SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: In keeping with evolving software industry practice, Clarity Product Management now communicates the End date for each release at the time of release. This change allows customers greater flexibility in your upgrade planning process. In accordance with the Broadcom Service/End of Life Policy within the “Working with CA Support” guide available at Broadcom Support Online, please consider this communication your written notification that support for Clarity Release 16.2.1, all patch levels, all languages, will be discontinued as of November 30, 2026.
