Today, we are pleased to announce that CA Datacom/AD Version 14.0 for z/OS is now GA (Generally Available).

New features for CA Datacom/AD Version 14.0 include:

CA Mainframe Software Manager (CA MSM). CA Datacom/AD Version 14.0 delivers expanded CA MSM support including deployment and configuration and new methods for setting customizations and configuring optional features.

• Mainframe 2.0. Serviceability features are provided to display MODID for module identification and deliver CA OPS/MVS integration and other capabilities that help users work with CA Support to diagnose and resolve software problems.
  
  
• Reorganization. CA Datacom Version 14.0 provides reorganization advancements including patent pending improved reorganization planning tools through new efficiency reports that show whether a reorganization is currently needed. The feature also includes new reorganization options that optimize online reorganization based on free space available.
  
  
• Performance. CA Datacom Version 14.0 introduces new performance improvements such as automated data collection and reporting for better performance tuning which will become the foundation of more automated tuning in future releases, more index and buffer pools, additional 64-bit memory usage, better memory management and better log file management.
  
  
• Usability and configuration. CA Datacom Version 14.0 delivers improved system set up and configuration including eliminating the SVC requirement and adding more error protection.

A key part of our Mainframe 2.0 initiative, CA Mainframe Software Manager (CA MSM), is now available to simplify and standardize the delivery, installation, and maintenance of mainframe products on z/OS systems.  CA MSM is a z/OS based application that delivers simplified acquisition and installation capabilities using a common z/OS-based web application delivered through a browser-based UI.
