We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the global teams for their work and commitment in delivering this release. Congratulations to all the team members and to all involved in making this release a success!

Release Highlights

The Symantec IGA 14.3 CP3 release includes features and fixes across the Identity Manager, Identity Governance and Identity Portal components that are included in Symantec IGA, as well as the Virtual Appliance.

Some of the marquee features and fixes of this release include:

Identity Manager, Identity Governance and Identity Portal

Support for Single Sign-On Authentication using SAML 2.0

Most enterprises are embracing Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML 2.0) standard for secure single sign-on access to applications in their environment as it offers a range of benefits such as,

  • Improved user experience

  • Increased security

  • Reduced costs

  • Seamless interoperability between systems, independent of implementations

In our endeavor to help customers adopt SAML 2.0 for fast, simple, and secure access to applications in their environment, we have enabled Identity Manager to be SAML 2.0 compliant. Enterprise users can now seamlessly access the Identity Manager application with SAML 2.0-based secure single sign-on authentication.

For more information on how to configure SAML settings in your environment with Identity Manager as the Service Provider and any SAML-compliant Identity Provider of your choice, see Single Sign-On Authentication using SAML 2.0.

Identity Portal

Ability to Filter Target Permissions Based on Attribute Filters

Identity Portal fine-tunes user access rights scoping by adding the attribute filtering capability to an Execution Plan. This new capability allows an administrator to filter target permissions for a business user based on the attribute filters that are defined in Identity Portal.

Execution Plan Attribute Tab

For more information on how to configure attribute filters in an Execution Plan, see Configure an Execution Plan.

Configurable Wait Time for Task Completion

An administrator can now configure the wait time (in seconds) for a business user to receive a response after submitting a task in Identity Portal. The wait time can be configured using the Wait Time for Tasks to Complete (Seconds) parameter that is newly added to the Webservices tab of the Identity Manager connector. When a business user submits a task, the web service call waits for the configured amount of time before returning a submission success message along with the request ID for tracking purposes. If the wait time is not configured, the business user must wait for 15 seconds (default) to receive a response after submitting a task.

With this configuration in place, business users can avoid screen loading time and can receive a response as per the desired wait time.
