Oracle 7.3 is not compatible with Windows 2000. Oracle (the company) never tested or certified Oracle 7.3 with Windows 2000, they stated they are not supporting Oracle 7.3 with Windows 2000. Oracle 8 however was tested and certified by Oracle, so they will support Oracle 8 with Windows 2000.

SQL 7.0 dll 3.70.06.90 cannot be used with Release Candidate 2 of Windows 2000, it puts garbage in the Resolution of EBR, Rapid Resolution and Client View. Windows 2000 Release Candidate 3 works.

**Oracle 8 is still being tested with Windows 2000.

Vendor support of SMTP/POP3 is reliable. ServiceIT Mail is compatible with a wide variety of SMTP/POP3 servers from a variety of vendors. Many clients are using ServiceIT Mail with SMTP/POP3 servers that we haven't tested with. SMTP/POP3 as a protocol seems to have consistent and stable implementation across vendors.

The term '(Connects Directly)' in the client column means that ServiceIT Mail bypasses the local client software on the computer to connect directly via the available protocol to the mail system. The client software is irrelevant for connectivity.
