Subject:    Plan for Removal of Adobe® Flash® Player from UIM

On behalf of Broadcom (formerly CA Technologies), we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products.

Broadcom is notifying UIM customers how it plans to respond to the official discontinuance of support and distribution of Flash Player on 31 December 2020 and how our plan can ensure your continued use of the UIM solution.

Currently UIM uses Flash to support some administrative and operator functionality. The impacted functionality will become available with enhancements made to the HTML5-based Admin and Operator consoles with UIM 20.3 in Q3CY20.

More details on the plan will be made available soon and invitations will be sent to you regarding the plan.

Recommended Action

●        Upgrade to at least UIM 9.0.2 or the most current release, UIM 20.1. The latest release, GA since March 20, includes more zero-touch policy configuration and additional security for high-scale enterprises and MSPs; support for Windows 2019, Red Hat 8.x, SUSE 15.x and Oracle 19c; and 40+ customer enhancement requests, 15+ ideas from the Infrastructure Management User Community, and customer-found defect fixes. Either one of these upgrades will allow a direct upgrade to UIM 20.3 when available.

Supported Upgrade Paths
