Subject:  General Availability Announcement for CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server v7.8

On behalf of CA Technologies, a Broadcom Company, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services.  As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server 7.8 is now available. This version of CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server will be compatible with Clarity 15.9.1 or higher.

New features for CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server 7.8 include:

  • Usability improvements in UI with a new brighter colour, bigger collapsible menu button, and new icons.
  • PhantomJS has been deprecated and replaced with the Chrome engine. Chrome is used to render any HTML 5 or fusion charts based reports and dashboard. 
  • Support for Oracle 19c and OpenJDK 11.
  • Domain schema syntax has been updated for better management.
  • New key management mechanism used for enhanced security.
  • Support for TCPS protocol for SSL communication with Oracle JDBC driver only.
  • Jaspersoft Studio 7.9 with several enhancements.

If you are an On-Premise customer, you can download your copy of CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server 7.8 online at Broadcom Support where you can also utilize Broadcom’s case management system. To install your product, follow the installation procedures for your product at Tech Docs. If you are a SaaS customer, your environment will be automatically upgraded to the new release at a scheduled time following the 15.9.1 GA release date. Customers can expect a follow-up communication with additional details related to automatic upgrades. If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact Broadcom Support.

Clarity SaaS service notifications are sent using the Broadcom Service Status platform. This provides a unified availability and maintenance status portal across Broadcom and overall improved customer experience. Clarity SaaS customers will receive a separate email from Broadcom Service Status informing when their CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server will be upgraded. We recommend you work with your IT team to whitelist the sender email address ([email protected]) to ensure delivery of service status emails.
