Subject: General Availability Announcement for API Virtualization 2.0

On behalf of CA Technologies, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services.  As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that API Virtualization 2.0, a new component of the CA API Gateway, is now available for download from CA Support Online (CSO). 

API Virtualization is the productized release of the integration between CA API Gateway and CA Service Virtualization and allows customers that own both products to more seamlessly use them together to build virtual APIs. API Virtualization’s key capabilities include:

• Provides integration between CA API Gateway and CA Service Virtualization to enable:
  • Easy creation of virtual services by capturing & recording request/response pairs of services in the CA API Gateway
  • Replay of responses of existing virtual services for (front-end) APIs that are managed on CA API Gateway
• Mode of operation is parametrized and can be controlled:
  • At the API Gateway/Cluster or more commonly at the API level by the API Publisher, or
  • An API Consumer (aka App Developer) can choose to parameterize via a header the choice to playback virtual service or go to real service

Please note, that API Virtualization is included as a component of the CA API Gateway, but the latest version CA Service Virtualization needs to be procured separately to utilize this component.
