Notice: Microsoft Exchange Server - April 2021 Security Update (MS Patch KB5001779) causes Broadcom Exchange Connector failures.

Microsoft has released a security patch for Exchange 2013, 2016, 2019. As described in the link below.

As a part of this patch, Powershell clients that relied on the .NET AddScript() function with the no-language mode option will fail with the following message:

The syntax is not supported by this runspace. This can occur if the runspace is in no-language mode.

The Broadcom Identity Manager Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, and Skype for Business (Formerly, Lync) Connector ("Exchange Connector") is based on PowerShell for its communications to the Exchange Server, and relies on this AddScript() for a significant number of provisioning operations. The above message and subsequent Exchange Connector failures has been reported by a number of customers and has been reproduced by Broadcom Engineering in our test labs. This was a completely unexpected change to a supported API. Broadcom Engineering is assessing the impact and working to resolve the issue. Given the impact and scope, this may take several days or more before an Exchange Connector fix can be made available for customers to download.
